About Us

Refurbished IT equipment, at its best.

What We Are

RefurbConnect is a leader in providing top-grade, affordable, and environmentally friendly refurbished devices to businesses, organizations, educational institutions, and not-for-profits.

Who We Are

Innovators with a vision of a greener future, we built RefurbConnect from the ground up and humble beginnings on Long Island, New York. Twenty wonderful years later, we are still providing superbly restored, certified IT equipment—refurbished computers and printers that could otherwise wind up as technological waste. We are proud to be a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) and R2-certified company.

What We Do

We help you get your work done by getting you the best IT equipment available. Whether it’s a refurbished laptop, PC, smartphone, tablet, or printer, our comprehensively trained and A+ certified technicians restore all equipment to its original manufacturer’s specs, ensuring at every step that the client device performs to the highest standard.

Every machine we restore starts as a pre-owned device sourced from responsible, globally-minded businesses, and goes through our comprehensive in-house 15-step refurbishing process. By strictly adhering to environmental protocols in reusing, recycling, and refurbishing our equipment, we help minimize IT pollution—as do our clients.

Whether you’re a start-up looking for budget-friendly, top quality IT solutions, or a Fortune 500 company, RefurbConnect provides refurbished like-new devices that are built to last.

Good for the Planet, Good for the Community

In addition to mitigating the technological footprint and reducing waste, we are happy and proud of our philanthropic contributions. RefurbConnect has donated thousands of working computers to PowerMyLearning, a non-profit organization committed to helping students, teachers, and families in high-poverty school communities. We would be happy to discuss how we can help facilitate donations from your organization, as well. RefurbConnect also helps under-served communities by regularly donating to various other organizations that provide aid to individuals in need.

Who You Are

You are a business-savvy forward thinker who wants to do good for the planet while meeting your organization’s need for the highest-performing IT equipment at a competitive price—you’re looking for much more than a refurbished-computer store.

The RefurbConnect Difference

Affordable

With RefurbConnect you get like-new refurbished equipment, tailored to your budget. Top-quality restored devices for a fraction of the cost? It’s a no-brainer.
Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher

Reliable

We are a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR), a certification given to top-caliber refurbishers, so you are confident knowing the equipment we provide is refurbished to the highest standards, functionally and cosmetically restored to “showroom” condition, and will serve you for years to come.

Consider the Source

RefurbConnect only sources inventory from environmentally conscious professional organizations —never individuals. What does this mean to you? Top of the line, business-grade IT devices, built to last.

Environmentally Friendly

Our parents raised us to “waste not, want not”—so why contribute to the millions of tons of technological waste that winds up in landfills every year? When you buy top-grade restored devices from RefurbConnect, you become a greener, more environmentally-conscious company. And make your parents happy

Experience Meets Technical Excellence

At RefurbConnect, top-notch workmanship is paramount. That’s why we only employ experienced, professionally trained technicians who make sure that every product performs like new. Sometimes better.

Wholesale Prices, One-on-One Client Support

One of the biggest advantages our clients enjoy is wholesale prices. But just because you buy in bulk and get discounted rates, doesn’t mean we treat you like a number. From flexible warranties to payment options, your needs are our priority, and your dedicated one-on-one account manager personally takes care of all the moving parts—from first quote and logistics to your upgrade through the Full Cycle Hardware program. And of course our Customer Service Team is always here for you, as well.

Top Brands, Refurbished

Refurbished doesn’t mean off-brand. We provide devices manufactured by your favorite and trusted brands, like Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Samsung, and more, restored to their original factory conditions and functionality.
30 Days Money Back Guarantee

Money Back Guarantee

Every product you purchase from RefurbConnect comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, no questions asked, and a 90-day limited warranty. Business clients get a standard one-year warranty, as well as two- and three-year extended warranty options—and advance replacement. Not-so-fine print: if something’s wrong with your order, shipping’s on us. Simply changed your mind? You pay shipping costs.

Our 14-step Refurbishing Process

Our 14-step Refurbishing Process

Whether it’s a refurbished laptop, PC, smartphone, tablet, or printer, our comprehensively trained and A+ certified technicians restore all equipment to its original manufacturer’s specs, ensuring at every step that the client device performs to the highest standard.

Every machine we restore starts as a pre-owned device sourced from responsible, environmentally conscious organizations, and goes through our detailed in-house refurbishing process. On this page you can follow your device’s journey.

Inspection and Verification

When a device arrives at our New York facility, we first decide if it’s got the right stuff to be a RefurbConnect certified refurbished machine—and you’d better believe our techs are harsh critics! With a keen eye (and hand) an expert technician goes over every external aspect of the machine. Is the screen in good shape? Are there scratches or dents? Are there signs of rough handling or misuse? Stuff missing? If the technician decides the device does not meet our high standards, we recycle it according to strict environmental standards (we are a R2-certified company!)

Unique Asset Tag ID

If a technician approves a device for refurbishing, s/he then assigns it an ID tag. This unique number helps us not only keep an up-to-the-minute history of this specific piece of IT equipment, but also to closely follow its journey in our database. Who purchased it? Which upgrades did the client have us install? Does it qualify for our Full Cycle Hardware program? Will we purchase it back from the customer at the end of its life?

Deep Cleaning

You can probably guess what this step is all about. But did you know that before refurbishing a device, we fully disassemble it and give it the most thorough cleaning of its life, using the latest dust-removal techniques in the industry (electric, static, vacuum)? And because we do our best to keep out planet (and employees) chemical-free, our techs use eco-friendly solutions such as Simple Green when cleaning all the components, inside and out.

Like New—but Better

Once the device is apart and spotless, the technician rebuilds it. During this part of the refurbishing process we replace necessary components such as internal batteries and fans, install custom hardware, and configure the device. Every order is unique: if you opted for more RAM or that 1TB hard drive, for example, this is when we put it in and complete the component customization process. After this step, this machine is officially at or above original manufacturer’s specifications.

Test Drive

After the rebuild and reassembly, the technician powers on the device and performs a series of comprehensive component tests. We won’t bore you with too many details, but suffice to say that during this step we put the machine through the paces to make sure that everything is performing the way it should—or better. We test components such as the motherboard, and perform real-time diagnostic tests.

Software and Drivers

After the freshly-refurbished device passes all the component and diagnostic tests with flying colors, it’s time to load it up with software. If it’s a Lenovo laptop, for example, the technician will install a genuine copy of Windows 10 Professional Operating System (or the latest OSX if it’s an Apple device) and complete the authentication process. If the customer requested any software, such as Microsoft Office 365, the technician would install and authenticate it at this step of the refurb process. Before finishing up, the technician performs all necessary driver updates to ensure that the machine performs perfectly.

Finishing Touches

Nearly ready to put his or her seal of approval on the machine, the tech goes over it with a fine-toothed comb (well, a magnifying glass, but you get it) one last time. If any detail, cosmetic or functional, however small, is not up to snuff, or, more importantly, doesn’t align with what we at RefurbConnect consider a top-grade certified refurbished device, s/he repeats the necessary steps to make sure it does.

In the Box, Out to You

After confirming that it’s perfect and ready for its new home (or office), we lovingly wrap the refurbished device and put it in a box, using Aeris’s™ state of the art form-fitting air pockets. What else goes in the box? All the OEM accessories such as keyboard, mouse, and cables; any original literature; and any extras the customer ordered (wireless keyboard, mouse, AC adapter, etc.)
